Ipomoea alba, commonly called moonflower, is a species of flowering plant of the genus Ipomoea in the family Convolvulaceae.
As a species of morning glory, it shares the same features. The flowers are funnel-shaped, but instead of blooming during the day, they bloom at night. The flowers are usually white, but sometimes pink.
Its common Japanese name, ヨルガオ (夜顔 yoru-gao), literally translates to "night face".
