World War II-era aircraft carrier
A type of warship with a flat flight deck that airplanes can use as a runway. Essentially serves as a floating, mobile airbase. They superseded battleship as the main type of capital ship during the end of World War II.
While typically referred to a ship that carries an airplane, this tag also cover smaller "helicopter carrier" which are otherwise similar in appearance and purposes.
