Ookami is a game developed by the now closed Clover Studios, a former subsidiary of Capcom.
Ookami follows the story of the sun god Amaterasu, who is in the form of a white wolf and accompanied by the diminutive Issun as she battles evil demons such as Yamata no Orochi.
The unique graphics of the game make it seem like a painting on a scroll. Using the Celestial Brush, Amaterasu can use her powers to alter reality, such as drawing a line to cut something in half, drawing a bomb to blow something up, and filling in areas to restore broken or missing objects.
The title of the game is a pun. "Okami" means "great deity", but with a different character system, it can also mean "wolf".
Has a Nintendo DS sequel, Ookamiden. Amaterasu has made a playable appearance in Marvel vs. Capcom 3.
