A popular and iconic superhero from DC Comics, and the main character of the comic series of the same name.
The humanoid alien from Planet Krypton, sent to Earth as an infant child. His birth name is Kal-El, and his adoptive parents name him Clark Kent. As living under a yellow sun grants Clark immense powers, such as hypersonic flight, nigh invulnerability, super strength, heat vision, a freezing breath, hypersensitive hearing, X-ray vision, and many others, he takes up the mantle of Superman - wearing a superhero costume that consists of a red cape and a blue suit - as he performs great heroic deeds around the Earth and in the city of Metropolis.
In many crossover media, Superman is frequently depicted as a rival of Batman, primarily due to their contrasting qualities. Such as Superman's usage of superhuman power compared to Batman's usage of gadgets, and their clashing philosophies regarding how to handle a villain.
Superman was created by the late Joe Shuster and the late Jerry Siegel and was first introduced in Action Comics #1 (1938)
