He is an arrogant person who wants everything to go his way. Despite this, he does not like places with many people and is not very good at facing the crowds under lives. As the captain of the handicraft club, he has dexterous and skillful fingers, and made the uniforms of their unit by himself. He's also childhood friends with Kuro Kiryuu. Shu is a "shotacon" and sometimes fawns over cute little boys, like his former unit member Nazuna Nito (Shu and Mika consider Nazuna a traitor for leaving Valkyrie, because the latter couldn't stand Shu anymore). Mika Kagehira loves and respects him, but Shu is dismissive towards him.
He owns a doll named Mademoiselle, which he uses to talk through with around people he's not confortable around.
At first he's hostile towards Anzu because she and Trickstar got to defeat Fine and Eichi Tenshouin by extension. He despises Eichi for the Five Oddballs incident, which caused Valkyrie (at the time the strongest unit) to fall from grace.
