For tagging purposes this tag is for fur/hair at the tip of the ear that extends out notably beyond the tip of the ear, especially on some types of animal ears. Also known as lynx tipping, as this type of feature is most common and notably for felines from the genus Lynx. Wild cats such as the caracal and domestic cats such as the Maine Coon also have ear tufts. This tag is not limited to just cat ears.
There should be a visible difference from the ear tufts and the ear tips when using this tag, as some ears will have long narrow ear tips.
For bird ear tufts see the bird ears tag. For ear furnishing, long hairs that grow from the inner ear and often confused with ear tufts, see the animal ear fluff tag.
