Much like the Jedi Knights of the ancient Republics or the Imperial Knights of the Fel Dynasty Galactic Empires, the Force Wardens are the devoted enforcers of peace, justice, and order in the galaxy in these times, who answer specifically to the Force Emperor and/or the Sektor Moffs to which they are assigned. Derived from the ideals and principles of the Force Emperor himself, Force Wardens are guided by the Balance: the practice and application of both of the Ashi and Bogar philosophies with regard to usage and understanding of the Living Force, Cosmic Force, and the Unifying Force. In times of tranquility, they are defenders, peacekeepers, and arbitrators between disputes, be that on the micro or macro levels of galactic civilization. In times of conflict, the Wardens become warriors, tacticians and strategists, seeking to put a swift, exacting, and proportional end to them. Each builds and wields their own starsaber (or equivalent weapon), which is long-descended from the eons-old lightsaber designs of the Jedi, Sith, and Bendu Monks, and is recognized as their badge of office. While each Warden is formidable and strong in the Force, they can also draw upon the vast powers of the Force Emperor should the need arise, but is often viewed as an option of very last resort when all other efforts have failed. Wardens also have contingents of Force Rangers and Commandoes at their disposal; elite cadres of Force-sensitive troops to provide additional support and logistics on an official (or even unofficial) dispatch. While their headquarters lies within the High Temple on the planet Oss, the Wardens are organized and situated in temples across the galaxy, particularly on worlds with a significant presence of both the Force and ruins of those devoted to their particular use and knowledge of it.
