Several people have asked if we’ll ever get to see the spaniards in Codex Black, and the answer is NO.
The story begins in 1493, when Donaji is 14 y/o.
In 1519, when Hernán Cortés arrives to the coasts of Mexico, Donaji would be 40 years old!

Codex Black’s story will span no more than 4 years (would end in 1497 max). So I can assure that there won’t be any hints or representation of the historical events of the Spanish invasion.
This comic’s setting is 100% Mesoamerican.

You probably noticed the Bleeding Sun title above adult Donaji. Someday, when I’m done with Codex Black, I plan to do a (very dark) “Epilogue”, telling the fates of the main characters, roughly from 1501 to 1530.
This one will cover the Spanish Invasion, but focusing on my own characters.

I would also like to do an alternative version in which Donaji & Itzcacalotl prevent the Invasion, defeating the Tlaxcaltec-Spanish alliance, thus changing History. Hopefuly someday.
