today’s bird is the cerulean warbler!
- when leaving a nest, female cerulean warblers jump out with their wings folded inwards, and only spread them for flight once far below the nest. some people call this “bungee-jumping”
- during the winter, in south america, they are often found in mixed-species flocks with tropical tanagers
- they only forage at the top of the canopy, often 50 feet above the ground
