Based on the legend of the nine-headed dragon of Mt. Togakushi, located right next to Mt. Iizuna. Stories of sinful monks turning into monsters are common around this period, but turning into a dragon is still kind of rad, so you can't help but feel a little envy. Togakushi and Iizuna seem to have gotten along religiously as well, and Iizuna-daigongen also did all kinds of charity for the people in the surrounding area, so I like to imagine that Megumu would've had a lot of connections.
Green Jade
I really love non-humans having different traits drawn from the animals they're based on. I imagine that Megumu herself doesn't really struggle with it, and especially doesn't let it show in front of Tsukasa, but also acts just a little bit odd in winter.I personally find nearly opaque gemstones like jade even more beautiful than very translucent ones. That's hard to show in manga, though. I wonder if Youkai Mountain has every conceivable kind of rock lying around...
Haircut
My first time making a self-printed book. It felt like doing arts and crafts, so it was pretty fun.
As even Akyuu has said, feedback means a lot when it comes to writing, drawing or what have you, and I'm sure the same is true for newspapers. If you write one by yourself and end up wildly embellishing the facts, isn't that a form of creative writing in a sense?
Even if we assume Momoyo wouldn't believe everything she read in a tengu's newspaper, Megumu might end up subjected to a barrage of questions, which is a cute image. She and Tsukasa hate to even imagine the hassle of tailing Momoyo if she tried to sneak down to the Human Village, but they also kind of want to see it happen. Hang in there.
Nine-Headed Dragon of Togakushi
Originally uploaded on the web, and as such, has very high daydream quotient. I imagine that Momoyo keeps her hair long because it's too much of a hassle to cut, but it also kinda gets in the way, so she has probably chopped it really short a few times over the years. I'm absolutely sure that suits her too, though. No doubt in my mind.
