Dan Heng-san's past is buried within him, but the curse lingering on him keeps him hated by his hometown, is that it? So does this mean he was given a choice like, "continue living in your hometown in chains, or leave this ship to live alone" by the dragon elders or something? If they really glared at him when he decided to leave the ship and live outside, that'd be really sad. The power itself is a mystery, but that makes it so if he continues being chained down by his past memories he'll have nowhere to go no matter how much he runs, and since he hasn't settled things with Blade, he's getting chased by him, huh. In the last passage of the relic story, Kafka said something to Blade like, "I promise that you and those you hate will ____."
