First envisioned as a support unit specialized in interfering with enemy machines through electronic warfare, the NXG-103S Salem’s original design included state of the art software hacking suites as well as built in combat drones for defense.

Regrettably, most of these designs had to be scrapped when the original reactor made for the Salem was destroyed in transit and the only replacement available was one with a much lower output. Acting quickly as to loose as little time as possible, the design team pivoted the design for the Salem to that of a long range combat unit, removing the more power hungry systems, including the combat drones, while equipping it with a prototype, long-range energy rifle.

The finished NXG-103S now fits a more multipurpose role, outfitted with long-range combat gear while still containing the more basic electronic warfare systems that remained from before the design change.
