I really thought we wouldn't make it this time, so it's a real relief that we managed to push this out after all. No, I'm serious, the only thing I feel right now is tired. We'll really have to shape up next time...
There's a reference to a previous RemiRei story of ours where the did fireworks in winter, but we tried to have this one make sense even if you hadn't read that one. I kind of want to remake that for a compilation book sometime... line them up and compare...

Back around last Winter Comiket, full of confidence I declared that I'd write a story with Mokou in it, which became the basis of this one. Soon I really regretted saying something like that, but after looking through Imperishable Night and other background information, I started tying together the story. It's just that any conversation naturally takes a heavier turn... I really struggled with that.
I had the impression that she'd take advantage of the age difference to act like your senpai, so that's what I went with. She often appears together with Keine, who didn't have much of a role this time, so in the end this Mokou feels pretty fresh to myself as well. As for Reimu and Remilia, well, more of the usual. Yeah.
Remilia has been getting a bit more assertive lately. I think it's nice (?). Their conversation at the end mentions our suuuper old "Remilia and Winter Fireworks", which I feel must've made no sense to a lot of people. Sorry about that. But we have plans of remaking that, so please look forward to it.
