Just as I predicted Mew and Mewtwo were pretty popular in my latest poll - in fact the most popular option. I decided to paint those two this time.
I think it was pretty nice and quite challenging, too. I spent a good while trying to find some references because at first I wasn't sure how I should portray Mew and Mewtwo. In the end I ended up painting both in a different style due to their very different natures. I won't be explaining this picture too much, I think the viewer should do that part.
I just want to say a word about Mewtwo. Yes, his limbs and tail are cut. Yes, it was intentional and there's a reason for that. I found a very inspiring picture of a ghostly dragon that just seemed to appear from the darkness and I though I'd do the same with Mewtwo for obvious reasons. I think the effect in that picture was pretty neat (unfortunately I can't find it anymore :<).
