Afterword
This is my 29th book. Zounose here.
Continuing from last time, another food-themed book. It's becoming a habit!
This was a gag book, though, while the last one was just about man-eating, so we're in the clear! ...?
The last punchline? It was a reference to Flandre's dialogue from the EOSD extra stage, so... just respecting the source material...
To be honest, I was going to go with Hatate for this event, and even had the plot all finished. However, it got a bit too bloated, and it seemed that I'd low run on time.
Because of that, I took this book that I'd done for Kyoto Goudou two years ago but then shelved because it was too short. Here it is in extended form.
I do intend to draw the Hatate story for another event.
I'm planning a double feature with Hatate and Udon-chan.

Drawing this made me wonder what the collective fan consciousness thinks of the level of the Human Village's food culture.
Thanks to Forbidden Scrollery's artistic persuasiveness, some people have settled on a pretty old-timey image, and I've seen some fanworks that show the food culture as pretty unchanged since it was isolated in the early Meiji Era.
However, Curiosities of Lotus Asia makes pretty casual references to ramen, curry and Western stew, so personally I find that really silly.
I imagine it's a bit like FSS, with realistic restaurants and local cuisine mixing together without batting an eye.
(The latest was really good!)
Regarding the scene of Sanae eating a roll cake whole:
Back when I was a kid and headed to visit at a relative out in the country, I saw these schoolgirls (probably around middle-schoolers?) do pretty much just that. It was a real culture shock, and I still remember it whenever I see a roll cake.
...Don't tell me that's a common way of eating???
In any case, next time will definitely be at Reitaisai. I'm planning a serious story about the Moriyas.
Well then, I hope we can meet again.
(I only now realize Momiji should've put maple syrup in her cake.)
