Let's go, mantis shrimp!!!
A peculiar meme that's gone viral on Chinese internet for some reason. It is actually a re-introduction of an old meme, originally known as "Let's go, Pippy Pig".
Pippy Pig, a Chinese mascot for preschool children, became a self deprecating nickname of PDD, a League of Legends player who formerly served in team IG. PDD usually announces the beginning of his stream by saying this phrase.
Later, an user known as "Best Mantis Shrimp in Chongqing" started to spam advertisements for shrimp crackers in the comment section of Weibo celebrities' accounts. The advertisement spam is definitely not promoting sales though, as multiple brands of shrimp crackers are being promoted at once, with all their product names photoshopped into "Mantis Shrimp Crackers".
Amused by the strange behavior of this user, people started to use the phrase "Let's go, Pippy Pig" whenever he appeared, and eventually, the phrase was altered to "Let's go, mantis shrimp" in order to fit better.
This is one of those spamming memes. Unlike most other memes in this pool that you can use for a certain scenario, you can simply spam this one all over the place. As a spam focused meme, it has tons of variations that literally cover every well-known aquatic crustacean, and is currently spreading to quadruped animals, birds, pokemons, Yu-Gi-Oh beasts, and Overwatch characters.
