As an aside, while the title comes from the song "FIENDS", I drew the contents of the manga from the atmosphere and image of the lyrics and tune of "EASY ACTION". blew (ブルー) here.AfterwordSeeing as lucky ships were often named Shinigami, I thought "Okay, how about I try drawing a story where she winds up as a Shinigami then", to have transcended not only the Abyssal Ships, but the existence of the shipgirls themselves, wielding powers akin to that of a monster - because of that I attached the title of "FIEND" (※Evil Spirit, demon, cold-blooded, brutal person) to it.Finally, I'd like to give my thanks to my kind inker, (Fujibeji), who was the one who suggested the opening quote....Though honestly, I really only grabbed the name off a Boom Boom Satellite song's title.
