A complete view of Hisago Island (in 2005)In 2005, the Japanese government received a surprising piece of intelligence. The secretly abandoned Hisago Island caught onto a solitary island in the Pacific and was discovered. Even more surprisingly, many survivors from the continent moved onto the island and began to construct a city. Even though it was abandoned, it's still a pity to see it taken over and used by someone else, so the government once again asserted sovereignty over the island. But they couldn't possibly chase away the new immigrants on the island who had nowhere else to go. A delinquent fraction of the US military also settled on the island. No longer standing their diminishing sovereignty over the island, the government sent soldiers and their families there in order bolster their claim. The Japanese who were sent there for such a reason was pitiful indeed.
And so on this tiny island Japan, Asia, and the US military began to coexist.
It goes without saying that this story doesn't end with "and they lived happily ever after."
