Idollion Part 1
The rescue team arrives at the outskirts of Tokyo, near a once bustling park, now overgrown and ill-maintained. Still, they are ready to do their job... finding survivors.
Art Notes:
I wanted to draw some of the Idolmaster characters as Coppelion, and I ended up picking Mami Futami, Iori Minase and Hibiki Ganaha for the job. That's because of their individual unique skills. Combined they make for an interesting team. In the spirit of telling a story with images, I have more pics in this series coming along (well, about to be started). I don't know how many total, but I'm figuring five or six at the moment.
For the purposes of this series, Iori and Hibiki are 3rd years and 18 years old. Mami is a 1st year, and is 16. If you've read past the part where the Ozu sisters are introduced in the Coppelion manga, you'll know why they must be those ages. Also, why are they so pale, and how could they still be teens if the year is 2036?
I'll explain below, but it is a spoiler:
SPOILERS BELOW:
Spoiler!
Coppelion are clones of other people. The Ozu sisters, for example, were clones of a famous actress. Mami, Hibiki and Iori are clones of famous idols. Coppelion are all very pale, hence why they are all pale. They are all in high school- the eldest are 18, the youngest 16. There are reasons why none of the trio are 2nd years.
In Coppelion, clones inherit the personality traits of whomever they were cloned from (not the only scientific stretch in the series, but hey, it's suspension of disbelief time).
But while they inherited the traits of their idol originals, they didn't inherit their upbringings. So, they got raised with the other Coppelion. That would lead to some minor differences (and explains why Iori doesn't have a rabbit here), or major ones in the case of Mami who doesn't have a sister. But in the main they are quite similar.
Hmm, that ended up being more explanation than I thought it would be. Not bad for five minutes thinking!
Oh, and the background was inspired by one of the backgrounds in the PSP Idolmaster game. I wanted to make another connection with the series.
