Yugoslavia was said to comprise “six states, five ethnicities, four languages, three religions, two alphabets, and one country”, a country that was a mixture of various races and religions. With his charisma and suppression of nationalism, Tito maintained the republic. But after his death, the country split up as result of the sudden rise of nationalism due to various historical and management issues.
His domestic policy allowed the citizens limited freedom of speech and political opposition, though this suppression was less strict than that in other eastern bloc countries.
