A second year student at Ryouou highschool, in class E. She’s a so-called otaku that loves anime, manga, and video games. It seems that because of her father’s influence, she likes gal games and other genres targeted at boys. Actually, even though she is good at sports, she doesn’t participate in any club activities because then she “won’t be able to watch any of the prime time anime shows.”
Her grades aren’t that good, but when it comes to her interests, she can remember everything. It’s not that she can’t do her studies, it’s just that she has no motivation to do so.
She used to worry about her breasts not growing, but after hearing the saying “A flat chest is a status symbol!” in a certain game, it gave her confidence!?
Her hair that reaches to her waist is long enough that it even allowed her to imitate a shampoo commercial that was popular in the past. Kagami and the others didn’t get the reference.
During fitness tests at school, she shows off her unmatched running speed. But she doesn’t do sports, so it’s truly a waste of good talent…
Swimsuit
Just stay laid-back!
Because "there are needs for such things," she goes to the beach in her school swimsuit. Not only that, but she still wears the same one from elementary school!
Konata and games
In anything from a crane game, to a rhythm game or quiz game, as long as it’s a game, she will be good at it. Her display of skill in fighting games especially is extraordinary. She originally also had experience with martial arts, and was even skilled enough to defeat a foreigner who tried to kidnap Tsukasa (In reality though, he was actually just asking her for directions).

Her sleepy-looking eyes and cat mouth are her trademark. It appears like she may be contemplating something deep, but she mostly just thinks about her hobbies.
Konata’s officially endorsed milk
When it comes to lunch, it’s chocolate cornets and milk for her. With all that milk she drinks, it’s a mystery as to why her height hasn’t grown at all.
Gym uniform
The school’s designated gym uniform doesn’t use buruma, but instead uses shorts. Won’t this disappoint Konata, who’s always going on about “moe” things?

It’s all in the hair and eyes
Konata is a small, child-faced character, so I paid attention to make sure her design was cohesive in order to have her give off an overall small feeling. I think her messy hair may be one of her key points. But, something I struggled with was getting the exact expressions of her eyes feeling correct. For me, Konata was a type of character I've never really had to draw before, so I definitely had to do more redesigns for her compared to the other characters. Among the designs, if I had to choose one that I liked, I think it would have to be her in a casual tank top.
