This is not a criticism, just a comment, but what exactly is the point of naming the artists here? 99% of the time it's by some random dude I wouldn't recognise if my life depended on it anyway, and in cases where I *do* care about other works by the author (I do sometimes to decide whether a particular questionable feature in a pic is by choice or mere ineptitude), I have it nicely highlighted in red on the post page already. It seems like extra work for you with absolutely no benefit to anyone.

Unapproved two of these, but I've always felt fighting games to be borderline off-topic. Granted, probably not as off-topic as kamen rider, which I'd kill with fire, but still.

Granted my interest in fighting games is nearly zero in general, but as long as they are Japanese, I don't really see how they can possibly be considered off topic.

They're about as relevant as the wacko Japanese TV game shows. That's also Japanese (I'd even say it's very much uniquely Japanese, as no-one else could possibly stand most of that lunacy), but we don't include them. Yes, I know it says[*] "repository of things related to Japanese culture" on the tin, but I don't think it's a sufficient conditition by itself. More or less necessary, yes, but not enough.

[*] Actually, as a quick search reveals, it doesn't say that anywhere, not anymore anyway. It's a challenge to find the About page at all, even when you have a good idea about the layout of the site, and then it doesn't say a single word about the kind of material that is welcome here. But it does list gif and bleach in the Google sitemap links. Our end-user documentation is five kinds of horrible. And then we wonder why newcomers are so clueless.

Well, if someone drew high quality art based on one of those shows, and posted it up on pixiv or whatever, why wouldn't we include it? This seems highly arbitrary on your part.

The main objection I could see to Fighting Games is they tend to be male heavy, but that is hardly a universal rule, and games such as guilty_gear and blazblue could be anime for all someone just looking at the art would know, and the darkstalkers are long established characters, a number of which are clearly relevant to the site's purpose.

Ah, I guess I was imprecise and haven't thought what I wanted to say through. I meant there's a large proportion of fighting games-related art (and even bigger proportion, around 99.99%, for kamen rider) that doesn't have anything going for it besides being fighting games-related. And that they end up here fairly frequently, which is why I felt like mentioning them at all.

That is not to say I'd exclude good art because of it; in fact that's precisely why I undeleted pic #3 in the above appeal, because it was good. But not-so-good art won't get any points, whereas something even not necessarily amazing quality-wise, but highly on-topic, can get extra points for the idea.
