I have. I'm just unsure of the specifics though. Because it *is* the same image. It's from the same "source" and the visible difference is a cropping of the edges while the main part of the image is identical

Regardless, my main question was on the reason for the deletion of the initial post. I'm curious if approvers did not the like the image itself or if the third-party edit that might have not been obvious to people unfamiliar with the image source.

Can anyone tell me why the following posts didn’t get approved?

There’s also this one, which I was told that the other artists' works have no bearing on an individual work. I get that, but it seemed like it was of sufficient quality, and similar posts by the author have been fine, so I don't understand what was wrong with this one in particular.

No it isn't. The source as we define it is where the uploader obtained the image. For post #7044041, the uploader obtained it directly from the Twitter post. The post on Danbooru is exactly the same as the one on Twitter. The post is valid, so no image replacement is needed.

and the visible difference is a cropping of the edges while the main part of the image is identical

That means it's a different image. The border isn't present in the image on Twitter. If the replacement were made, the images on Danbooru and at the source would no longer match. Since your image is more complete, you should post it as the parent of the one that is already posted.

A valid reason to ask for a replacement is if you have a pixel-perfect duplicate from a better source than the image that is already posted. However, I don't think a valid Twitter URL is likely to be replaced with a non-web source stating it was extracted from the game.

I asked about this post long ago when it first got deleted, but I never really got a good answer (or any answer at all, in fact) as to why it wasn't approved. I feel like even though it's in a toon style, the artist being Japanese and the show's style being mimicked well should have given it some points. I think maybe it just didn't reach the right approvers since many things in the toon_(style) tag are similarly stylized but got approved.

It looks like only one approver (HereinAfter, I think) ever approves my uploads, everything else gets silently "disinterested".
Once again: this artist has been approved before.

Each upload is evaluated on its own merit, it doesn't matter if the artist had other art approved.

This post #9027895 is apparently unliked?

What's the reason? Also I am the artist, therefore theres no need for a source request?

The upload system makes no sense, I've appealed it but its still 'disinterested' is this platform only for NSFW or am I doing it wrong

For myself, I am not the target approver as well, as I am unfamiliar with Twisted Wonderland to feel drawn to the reference so instead have to base my decision on the quality of the art. To me, the art style is rough and the linework is too thick. While it's certainly in the style of the show, to me it is somewhat lacking in the artistic skill I look for to approve. It's decent, but you need someone who enjoys both Courage and Twisted Wonderland which might make a very specific person to give it the nod.

Right, well, first off welcome to danbooru! I do mean that sincerely. We do get a few folks posting up their stuff here and it is always welcome to see a new face.

So, as you may have seen, the image board requires an approval process for art to be retained. Each submission is evaluated by a group of people -- you get the idea. The thing is, art doesn't need to be disliked for it to be garner a "disinterest." That is an approver looking over the art and stating that it did not pass their criteria, whatever that may be. This could be for many reasons: each approver has their own distinct tastes, sense of aesthetics, and preferences. When art is truly disliked it gets tagged as "poor quality." While I have seen some art get approved with this tag, it is definitely the exception rather than the norm.

Now, to #9027895. Your piece is very heartfelt and earnest, and has a good theme. I very much like the design of the baby. Some of the anatomy of the face lacks definition and feels like a 2d image (being in profile also adds to that). The color feels a bit heavy-handed making the design feel flat. There's also a very strong focus layer that pulls away some of the details of the piece, and the draped shirt front draws attention to the fact she doesn't have hips or legs.

Ah! And it's also a good idea to include tags for the post. Tags will help the post be identified easier. I'll go ahead and include some for you. It is also important to mention that your work is self-upload. You should also be aware that this is one of the hardest types of art to get approved, as it will be compared to pieces created by professional artists. I will say that your work is what I would regard as "borderline." I think that, with the right content and the right approver that it would be possible to see your art retained on the danbooru.

I hope that clears things up for you. I will go ahead and appeal on your behalf, and I wish you luck.

It's not bad but the art style is a little unrefined. Her fingers are also set into her hands a bit weird. It might be worth appealing to see if a Neptune series fan likes it.
