I understand that the first two images were uploaded by a contributor, so it is inherently subjective; but I don't exactly get why a post that it is has a score of 17, has been reviewed and appealed still does not gel with the approvers. It is the last variant of these parent-child posts, so why is this one constantly getting singled out?
The score is irrelevant. Users can upvote or downvote posts for any reason, including things that have nothing to do with art quality, so it’s not a good metric to determine whether something should be approved.

Also, why was this post appealed by an approver? I was under the assumption that approvers had the power to automatically undelete posts (something that has happened to numerous posts of mine.) This post is also singled out despite being visually similar to another piece of art from the same artist.
There was no reason given in the appeal, but it’s possible there weren’t many approvers that looked at it. Some approvers will appeal posts if they think there weren’t enough eyes on it to give it a fairer shot, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they would approve it themselves.

Any ideas about post #8771264?
It is customary to wait until after the post is deleted before asking. There is still a chance your post will be approved before the three days are up.
