Bridal Gauntlets

googling "bridal gloves" (not gauntlets), i received many results that would not be considered gloves by danbooru standards, if i had to estimate perhaps a third would be such. some were what we would call bridal gauntlets, and some were more akin to detached sleeves past wrists

on the other hand, googling bridal gauntlets yields predominantly (though not exclusively) the "correct" shape, although there still are some detached sleeves past wrists and gloves included. moreover notably many sites list what we would call bridal gauntlets as gloves indeed, just as GreyOmega said

and, this is important - most of those results are wedding (bridal) fashion, mainly colored white and consisting of lace. you will be hard pressed to find results like https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/7515033?q=green_bridal_gauntlets+ by googling "bridal gauntlets".

in fact, i had more luck finding non-bridal bridal gauntlets by googling "middle finger gloves", though i also saw a lot of clip art and stock photos featuring regular gloves flipping one off, or gloves that reached to the first knuckle on every finger other than the middle one.

"single finger cross gloves" also seems to mostly yield short, wrist-length "bridal gauntlets", though "cross gloves" specifically appear to be a type of glove used in sports, rather than a more decorative ballroom glove. "single finger glove" had some relevant results, though mittens or gloves that cover another finger were also found

i cannot help but wonder how this site has come to understand bridal gauntlets as this
