We're not calling Kaela's original outfit that, we're going the Kurumi Noah route with her original outfits (I believe)

I don't think it's a good idea. Old defaults needs to be distinguished as such.
Take Kurumi Noah to this topic right away. It's back on discussion now
CLARIFICATION: It would be "old default", not "old design". This won't be like the Shiranui Flare case.

That'd give even more justification to go with the Niji approach, because we don't know in what order they'd rework her New Year and Casual costumes, since they could rework the latter first (so we'd have 4th, 3rd, 2nd, in costume order), and that isn't even accounting the possibility of her getting a new costume while her old ones get reworked (so 4th, 3rd, 5th, 2nd, in one hypothetical scenario).
This is a dumb reasoning, Flare also got her old costumes ported to her new model and we didn't rename them.

I personally don't like the term "Old Default", we have the term "Old Design" for it (also Damian0358 and alphashitlord both mentioned her other 3 outifts might be re-worked to fit her new outift/model)

It's still "old design" because Flare didn't start over, unlike Kaela.
I suggest Kaela going with the "old default" approach. Noah's "1st" should also be changed to "old default" as she restarted completely like Kaela. Distinction, everyone!

Even so, Kaela and Noah both have more than one costumes retired in favor of their new defaults and going on, compared to Flare only changing her default costume. This explains why I suggest the "old default" term (or alternatively, "original default").

Case in point, we also have "(number).0", for example like Mint, IRyS and Pochi Wanmaru, using 1.0 may be better than using the term "old default"

In this case, that "1.0" should be reserved for the now-old version(s) of Kaela's other outfits (i.e. the ones before her current default).

Kaela's 1st default should be 1.0, if you wanna argue, her new model is technically a 2.0 the point.0 might be the better situation for Kaela if then "Old Default", but I believe in we are not renaming her 1st costume to anything for now

By your logic, we should have been getting Flare 1.5 (1.5 because of the old design ported to current model, blah blah blah) and Noah 2.0 already? DON'T TELL ME ABOUT DOKIBIRD TOO!
For sake of brevity and clarity, we should be renaming her (and Noah as well, because of Niji case before) into something along the lines of "old default", and affix appropriate old costumes with 1.0 to separate them from their new-model counterparts (looking at you, Kaela Kovalskia).

IMO that would be jumping the gun, we aren't even sure if her costumes are gonna get significantly changed or just adjusted to her new proportions, like how Flare and Fubuki's outfits were.

Please note that, unlike, Kurumi, Dokibird, and Flare, Kaela is a special case as her costumes don't even show up on her page and might be a complete costume reset for her, UNLESS her outfits are re-worked, her default might as well be considered "1.0", or if we could start using the term "(retired_costumes)" if anything

That's a very silly way to do it, as no other girls have gotten new New Years outfits (they got Yukatas, but they haven't changed there kimonos), so the year naming won't work for them, the only vtuber who has a year for her outfits is Silvervale cuz those outfits are completely different, and again if anything Kaela's outfits might be reworked to match her new look so we can just move her 1st/original default into the "other outfits" in her wiki if needed.

My suggestion says "(number).0", not the years. As in "X.0" where X is a natural number. It's not the same thing as the year number (say, 202X)!
The old outfits, however, can indeed go to "other outfits" in Kaela's wiki.

And I said "very silly way to do it" regardless, as no other girls have gotten new New Years outfits, if anything, Kaela's older outfits may be re-worked ala Fubuki, it WILL be different if say, Kaela got a Yukata for a new New Years outfit to replace her old New Years outfit, but she may be going the FBK route with her old outfits as well

IT'S NOT SILLY! That's a very wrong take, because Kaela is starting over! This one was not about the default outfits (I did suggest the terms "old default" and "original default"), but rather, as you suggested there, New Year ones. You brought up Silvervale because her outfits were very different!
It's not a silly way at all, Rodent. At this point, you're unknowingly insulting me over my own suggestions.
