rename... KOJgKnMOnDSR_~_RnYKS~ → KOJgKnMOnDSR (abbreviated)

BUR #5817 has been approved by @Hillside_Moose.

rename kibishii_onna_joushi_ga_koukousei_ni_modottara_ore_ni_deredere_suru_riyuu_~_ryoukataomoi_no_yarinaoshi_koukousei_seikatsu~ -> kibishii_onna_joushi_ga_koukousei_ni_modottara_ore_ni_deredere_suru_riyuu

Current copyright tag is excessively wrong with a superfluous 'subtitle'. It is so bad (even by light novel standards!), I even had to resort to using acronyms in the thread title.

Original and translated titles for context

Title: 厳しい女上司が高校生に戻ったら俺にデレデレする理由
Transliteration: Kibishii Onna Joushi ga Koukousei ni Modottara Ore ni Deredere suru Riyuu
Translation: The Reason Why My Strict Female Boss Turned Deredere on Me After Turning Back into a High School Student

'Subtitle': 両片思いのやり直し高校生生活
Transliteration: Ryoukataomoi no Yarinaoshi Koukousei Seikatsu
Translation: Highschool Life Where We Redo Our Mutual Crushes

For practicality reasons the title and 'subtitle' will be referred to "KOJgKnMOnDSR" and "RnYKS" in the following sections.

1. 'Subtitle' is superfluous.
  • Practically nobody uses the 'subtitle' as a proper part of the title, not even official and authoritative sources. Most sources just use KOJgKnMOnDSR, with subsequent volumes being numbered KOJgKnMOnDSR 2 and KOJgKnMOnDSR 3. If RnYKS is added, it comes after the number.
  • Similarly, most booksellers and related stores also tack on numbers directly to KOJgKnMOnDSR, leaving RnYKS dangling behind to the right of the number like an unwanted appendix. Some even drop the RnYKS entirely.
  • Libraries also truncate the title, cutting off the RnYKS bit. This is despite leaving most of the other long LN novel names intact.
    • e.g. Yokoshibahikari Public Library's public catalogue.
    • Ctrl+F 厳しい女上司が高校生に戻ったら俺にデレデレ to find the entry.
    • Listed as KOJgKnMOnDSR...2.
2. Current tag is also inconsistent. Even if are not going to cut off the RnYKS part, the copyright title has to be renamed anyway.
  • Tag uses ~ to set off the 'subtitle', which is inconsistent with how English usually renders 'subtitles' ("Title: Subtitle"). This also include some other copyright tags on this site (e.g. gundam_wing_dual_story:_g-unit) that uses colons for 'subtitles'.
    • Granted, the original for the Gundam one also uses a "colon", but it's probably best to enforce this as a standard for most tags.
    • Plus, multiple tildes are also ugly in tags.
  • The current copyright tag, assuming it tries to follow the "Title + Subtitle" spelling of the first LN volume, also has a typo.
    • The 1st volume is written as "KOJgKnMOnDSR ~RnYKS~" (spaces exactly as written). The current tag lists it as "KOJgKnMOnDSR_~_RnYKS~", with an extra space/underscore introduced after the first tilde.
  • So, since we have to rename it anyway, might as well just rename it to something shorter and cut off the unnecessary ~RnYKS~ bit completely.

TL:DR: Copyright tag title is too long, with a superfluous 'subtitle' part that nobody uses, not even the official publisher and various booksellers. It also has a typo so we have to change it anyway.

This tag has 12 posts in it. Why don't you just do it manually and skip writing all this?

In the unlikely event that any Danbooru user keeps an eye on this copyright, they aren't going to be confused by the tag suddenly changing since autocomplete will work the same way for both.

Mostly because there were multiple senior users who brought up the issue (of the long name) in post #4054217, yet nobody changed it. As such, I'm assuming they thought the title was supposed to be how it is rendered officially. So I started writing a post detailing how even the official sources and booksellers don't use the 'subtitle'... and since I already had it written out, might as well proceed with a BUR and make it official and written down in record. Would be useful in case somebody wants to dispute the changes.

Though yes, now that you mention it, it does seem like it's... "proper for the sake for being proper" (and not necessarily for convenience), in which case I apologize if it has troubled anyone.

For what it's worth, I appreciate all the detail. It's far preferable than people leaving the reason field blank or writing unhelpful reasons like "obvious".

Thanks. Wrote up a wiki for the new tag.
