COVID-19 tag/pool to avoid Current Events flood

It's fine if they aren't all visibly similar as long as the reference is clear. We already have precedent for this in the 2011_sendai_earthquake_and_tsunami tag.

These images have very little in common visually.
If at all, this serves as a perfect example why a pool should be made.

This is pretty subjective therefore, meaning it has no point being a tag.

That's... that's not what subjective means. "These images have very little in common visually" isn't the same as tagging based on personal experiences and opinions. This is, as kittey said, objectively taggable. Even if the images don't all look the same, the substance of the images makes it completely obvious that they are based on the pandemic and associated events.

I agree with the arguments made by kittey and slime, a tag should be fine too. However it's probably better if for now the tag is called something like coronavirus pandemic or similar. It's not an event stationary in time, so we don't know how long it'll go on, and for tagging's sake given that it's a current global happening it should be shown right next to the coronavirus tag in the autocomplete (I don't think the current fuzzy autocomplete will be able to pick it up, it can't pick up the sendai earthquake tag when searching for "earthquake" for example). Or at the very least an alias would be helpful.

I just checked the coronavirus tag, and i think it already fits the scope? Either the tag is repurposed/renamed to coronavirus_pandemic (or covid-19_pandemic if we want to be more specific) and coronavirus is used for posts that show the virus itself (eg post #3829018, i personally prefer this method), or we can just use coronavirus for all COVID-19-related posts.

If it´s going to be a tag we introduce, than we should introduce a complete new tag like you suggested. Coronavirus for the virus itself and covid-19_pandemic for everything that is part of the ongoing pandemic.

Yeah coronavirus should only be for the actual virus itself.
