esper

If you look at the post history, it started out as a tag for the magical beings from Final Fantasy (both the summons and trance_tina_branford). Only much later did taggers start using it as a dumping ground for psychic characters from various other copyrights, which seems like a gross misappropriation of the tag.

I don't see a good reason to keep this tag. If we need a tag that includes all the Espers from Final Fantasy, it should be esper_(final_fantasy) to eliminate confusion. For everything else, we have psychic.

What's the point of the tarot_arcana tag? At a glance, it looks like pure tag padding, completely redundant to the tarot tag. Its wiki page is just a giant infodump of trivia that is largely beyond the scope of Danbooru's wiki. Even after a decade of revisions, the wiki makes zero attempt to explain when or why this tag should be used.

It looks like it wasn't supposed to be a tag, just a wiki. I think we should nuke it and move the relevant information to the tarot wiki.

What's anime in real life?

It's photo_background. Nothing more, nothing less.

You could try to define anime_in_real_life in such a way that characters are supposed to be portrayed as more immersed in their environment than simply being drawn over a photo, but in practice it just comes down to individual user discretion. There's no objective reason why post #4971763 is tagged and perry's animations aren't, or why post #5215554 deserves the tag and post #3450187 doesn't.

You could also make the case that anime_in_real_life posts are supposed to have some degree of viewer interaction, as with the first post to bear the tag, but most posts with this tag have no such interaction. Besides, this usage is already covered by tags like pov_hands and pov_across_table.

BUR #9528 has been approved by @nonamethanks.

create alias anime_in_real_life -> photo_background

Then I guess we should combine the two.

Two of them (post #3593542 and post #3662235) are also tagged with hybrid animation, not sure if this is important but looking at the other posts under that tag makes me confused.

It looks like this tag was originally intended to describe some kind of early live2d-esque animation tool used by an H-game developer, but later someone came along and appropriated it for a different purpose altogether. See the comments on post #84313.

I've removed the tag from the two posts you mentioned, since they clearly don't fit with the rest of the posts with that tag.
