it's a different version of the image (saliva trail) so I would go with projected inset close-up instead.

The wiki for projected inset says that the inset should be in the background of the image. Is that inaccurate?

It's definitely not a projected inset, "projected" is the keyword here. That tag is for the classic anime trope, think Goku's face smiling in the clouds. A frame like that definitely does not qualify.

I guess the best approximation would be close-up multiple_views, then? This random encyclopedia entry makes it sound like the projection is in front of the image. There do seem to be results similar to the post in the aforementioned search.
