Here's a clothing style that I'd love to see more of, but not finding a good combination of tags to search for, or tag the ones that I do find. The "look" is wearing high-cut panties/bikini-bottoms high on the hips (so the waistline makes a distinct "V" from front or back), but with shorts/skirt over the top of it, such that only the sides/strings of the panties are visible over the pants.
This look I've seen most commonly in video game characters; Rikku (with a skirt bottom, e.g. post #3511185), Quiet (from Metal Gear, with a belt/pantyhose as bottom: e.g. post #3348181), and Katarina Alves (from Tekken 7, with full pants as bottom: e.g. post #1852769)
The panties themselves are probably covered by highleg_panties or highleg_bikini (and now that I've found that tag, it looks like highleg_bikini_bottom could fold into highleg_bikini?), and a fair number of those posts have the "look" I'm describing, but is there a good additional tag for flagging posts that have that sort of panty "peeking over a waistband" versus totally visible, to further distinguish them?
The panty_straps tag seems to be the best match for what you're describing, though the examples you linked look more like bikinis than underwear. You might want to get a second opinion from @evazion about whether that tag is meant to include bikini bottoms, since the wording of the wiki only mentions panties.

Ooo, good find, @iridescent_slime! I agree "panty_straps" probably needs either a more generic term (to include swimsuits (bikinis) too, or a separate tag ("bikini_bottom_straps"? And then "panty_straps" should imply "panties" too)? Is there a definition somewhere on how to draw the line between a bikini (swimsuit) and bra/panties? I guess for those characters, if those are their standard "look" they wear out in public frequently, it's not likely that counts as their underwear? post #3509500 is tagged with "panty_straps", but also "bikini_top", so there's some in there already mixed/muddled in that way.
Panty straps is meant to be inclusive of bikinis and panties. It's basically meant to be whale tail but from the front. Visually, it doesn't make much difference what they're wearing. And as you suggest, it's not always easy to tell the difference between panties and bikini bottoms.
Given that the girl on the left is wearing stirrup legwear the thighhighs tag is fine on that image. It does raise a potential question for other images, though...
Unbreakable and zaregoto, respectively, think these qualify for :d, but I don't. The way I see it, the useful purpose of the :d tag is to identify wide, beaming, open-mouthed smiles. It shouldn't be used as a synonym for smile open_mouth, or whenever a mouth is vaguely D-shaped. The :d wiki states that the tag represents a "wide, open-mouthed smile". Is the smile in post #3536572 "wide"? Isn't Rurina's expression in post #3536564 more a lewd "Cock goes here." than "Yay!"?
There is way too much superfluous tagging and stretching of definitions here since people started pushing the idea that every post must have at least 45 tags or so. It's posturing with one's superior adherence to the letter of the law, instead of considering its spirit. Diluted tags are useless tags, except to booru Pharisees.
I'd tag the first of those two as :d but not the second. The first is an open-mouthed smile, and almost a textbook example of the shape of the expression, just with a somewhat smaller mouth than some other pictures. Incidentally, I'd be in favour of a slight rewrite of the wiki as I don't think it should be read in the manner that you are reading it - I believe it should be saying that the mouth should be wide open and the smile should be a wide open one as well, and not that the smile should be both wide and open-mouthed. The second is just a wide open mouth with a slight hint of a smile at the corners.
post #1888990 - Is the one on the left a specific Touhou character? Since there’s only two character tags on Pixiv, it might be a second Marisa wearing a different costume.

It is indeed a second Marisa. Though at first glance, I thought she might be Junko, but then I looked at the Pixiv timestamp and saw that the image was from 2014, a year before Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom was released.
