I notice the wiki for multicolored_stripes currently says "clothes that have stripes with 3 or more colors" but my assumption has always been that's it's anything with 2 or more colors not including black or white (if stripes of only two different colors are not included, how else are they going to be searched?). Any opinions on this?

If stripes of just 2 colors were included, how would multicolored_stripes be different from regular stripes?

The vast majority of striped image are of one color and white. We lose the ability to search for some of the more colorful entries without them included. Also, it's inconsistent with other tags like multicolored_hair which only requires more than one color.
Yeah you can't have stripes (or any other pattern) without at least two colors. I interpret "multicolored" to mean "more than the normal number of colors", and the normal number is 2 for stripes, but 1 for hair.
If we need a tag for non-white stripes I think it should be a new tag. That way people will still have the ability to search for 3+ colors stripes with multicolored_stripes without having 2 color stripes mixed in with their results.

I'm OK with that. How about colored_stripes, with the definition simply being two colors excluding white? I wondered what to do for examples of black with a color other than white (common for Halloween-themed images, but it should be searchable even when there isn't a Halloween theme), but I don't think there is any problem with including that in colored_stripes too.

Clarification for one thing: What happens if there are 2+ non-white colors, and white as well? Like post #1751286 or post #1034930. That wouldn't count for colored_stripes, would it?

Nah, I'd stick with the current multicolored_stripes definition now, and anything more than two (regardless if it includes white) would be that. Something with three non-white colors like those examples should definitely count as multicolored. Maybe something like white, black, and one other color wouldn't look that colorful for something tagged "multicolored", but I'm not sure if it's worth adding yet another tag (and also wouldn't be sure on how to name and define it).
