The sorting order of comment search has been weird recently. Actually, ever since yesterday.
I used comment search to track discussion on specific tag. This filter out a lot of noise (tags I don't really care about) from the main Comments stream and it's also not affected by the No Bump option.
But recently the search result are not sorted chronologically anymore. It seems random, which reduced the usefulness of it.
Is this a bug, or a modification made to the software ?

What search did you use, exactly? I tried mizuki_hitoshi, and it seems to work fine, but... Could it be ordered by post id, descending? The thing is, arbitrary searches including metatags are allowed since last update - see issue #2217 . Maybe that set default ordering to the same as regular post searches.

VocaloidActually, it seems like there's grouping of comments on the same post, but the order still doesn't make sense. And of course, there are newer comments not shown immedieatly in the search result, or buried in the next pages
My best guess is that comments are grouped by posts, and those posts order is the same as if you search just touhou or vocaloid. In fact, if you add order:id_desc, which is the default ordering for posts, you'll get the same results... I'm filing a bug.
