Wixoss tagging (warning: SPOILERS)

Posted under Tags

The TCG is just called "WIXOSS". The first season of the anime, on which most (if not all) of the current images are based (and is currently tagged), is "selector infected WIXOSS". However, the second season will be titled differently, "selector spread WIXOSS". Perhaps we should just use wixoss as the copyright tag (and for qualifying the ambiguous characters)?

Also, I'm wondering if Yuzuki as an LRIG (who is credited in the series as ユヅキ rather than 紅林遊月, and some Pixiv tagging has followed suit) should have a separate tag as yuzuki_(wixoss)? It's a specific outfit, though frankly there are too few images to have much need of it, compared to the likelihood it could potentially spoil people if tagged. If we are going to stick to using the same tag if more images come in the future, I'll just add ユヅキ as "Other names" in kurebayashi_yuzuki. urazoe_iona could be another potential issue here, though it is presently unknown how her name is officially styled as an LRIG.

It may be overkill, but we could have wixoss as a base tag and implicate the two seasons to it? If there's anything to separate the two cours visually anyway.

If that's unnecessary, just alias everything to wixoss.

Haven't seen the show so no opinion on the character-specific question yet.

Don't think there will be much there. The anime franchise as a whole may be officially titled "selector WIXOSS" since the website uses "selector-wixoss.com" as the URL. Though at this point I don't see any reason to keep the card game separate from the anime since it seems to use the same characters (at least the initial major LRIG's from what I see).

Since it looks liek the base tag isn't in use for anything else right now, yeah I'll alias both season titles to wixoss for now.

create alias selector_infected_wixoss -> wixoss
create alias selector_spread_wixoss -> wixoss

Also add these aliases (should I make use of the bulk update request feature in these cases, or just use the existing thread?):
tama_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> tama_(wixoss)
hanayo_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> hanayo_(wixoss)
urisu_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> ulith_(wixoss)
midoriko_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> midoriko_(wixoss)
chiyori_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> chiyori_(wixoss)
eldora_(selector_infected_wixoss) -> eldora_(wixoss)
tama_(selector_infected_wixoss)_(cosplay) -> tama_(wixoss)_(cosplay)
midoriko_(selector_infected_wixoss)_(cosplay) -> midoriko_(wixoss)_(cosplay)
hanayo_(selector_infected_wixoss)_(cosplay) -> hanayo_(wixoss)_(cosplay)

Urisu changed to "Ulith" to reflect the official spelling.

Uh good question, on the one hand it's helpful to keep related discussion under one thread, on the other the new functionality was created for a reason, so... case by case basis I guess. This is fine for now.

A new ability was added to request a bulk update in an existing thread. To use it go to request a bulk update, but put the topic id in the optional Forum topic field. Then it'll create a request post without needing a whole new thread.

Nice. I'll remember that so I can make use of it next time.

She has a number of images now (and her name is officially written イオナ as a single name), and her more stark difference in appearance (a bit more so than Yuzuki) from her original self has me wondering if I should rethink not giving them a separate tag as a LRIG. Probably not going to be any less of a spoiler threat whichever way the tags are done.

remove alias selector_infected_wixoss -> wixoss
remove alias selector_spread_wixoss -> wixoss
create implication selector_wixoss -> wixoss
create implication lostorage_wixoss -> wixoss

Since there's a new anime franchise with different characters, I think the Wixoss copyright tags need to be restructured now. The new anime series is titled Lostorage incited WIXOSS, but "lostorage-wixoss" is the official site URL and it's possible it will get sequels or spinoffs with a different middle title as the selector part of the franchise got.
