Couldn't delete my comment.

Posted under General

When I click 'delete' for the first time, a message appears, then I would click 'okay', then nothing happens, then for the the second I click delete another message appear but this time with a checkbox, I check the checkbox and press okay, then nothing happens again, then for the third time I click 'delete' it just link me to the comment (the comment page with only the comment I want to delete showing).

I just updated the Java program and see if that's the problem but it seems that it's not. I tried using, Firefox, Chrome, and Internet Explorer. I even used another computer and used the same browsers there.

As I've already said, Java and JavaScript are two entirely different things. The "Java program" you're talking about is a runtime environment (virtual machine). Whereas JavaScript is a programming language, which can be interpreted and executed by an engine built into your web browser. You can't "update" JavaScript (well, unless you work at Mozilla Foundation).

I have no idea why it doesn't work with different browsers/computers, though. Perhaps, you have some NoScript-like browser extension installed globally? Like those bundled with antivirus software.

Why did you check the "Prevent page from creating additional dialogs" checkbox?

Has this happened with every single comment? Can you try opening any post, posting a comment, then deleting it?

No, if he had javascript disabled or noscript installed he wouldn't be able to see the confirmation dialog, which uses javascript. His javascript must be working correctly.

Yup, it happens on every single comment that I made, makes me wonder if I'm the only one had this problem since I can see several other users can delete their own comments.

EDIT

I already had this problem 10 months ago until now. I was just too busy back then that's why I did not immediately report this issue.

EDIT2

Also, I cannot un-favorite a post, and I don't know how, when and why did I favorite'd this post in the first place (it's not like I don't like it or anything).

I don't know if a free anti-virus like AVG has something like those, should I uninstall it?

No, you shouldn't. Unless you know what you're doing.

Oh, I see.

Can you un-favorite other posts besides that one? Or is that the only one?

I deleted everything from cookies, cache, history, and even stuffs in my temp files (if ever change something) but still I couldn't delete a comment nor unfavorite a post.

Also I created this temporary account so that I could test if I can delete a comment using another account, don't worry I'll delete this once I've done the test.

Okay... 'unfavorite' also isn't working on this one.

I've noticed that whenever I have a JavaScript issue, all of the links that normally toggle between each other are both present at once. For instance, images will have both a Favorite and Unfavorite link at the same time. Mayhaps that will help diagnosis.
