Bug: resized image showing despite "default image width" being set to full

No idea why, but strangely when looking at http://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/396760?tags=parent%3A280213 it resizes the image to 850px width, without showing the prompt to show the full version. I tried changing the image resizing setting, and this made the "Resized to 33% of original (view original)" appear, but after changing the setting back and reloading the page, the resized version is still being displayed.
I tried using both firefox, IE and chrome, same results.

I noticed because a few files I'd saved had the "sample-" prefix in the file name.

edit: I'm browsing about and it seems most images that are wider than 850px are doing this.

If this is already a known bug, feel free to close the topic, I'm not sure where to look that up.

He meant that you could go into your settings and change "default image width" to "850px" as a temporary measure until the site is updated with the fix. If you do, the purple bar with the "view original" link that lets you view the original image will appear.

This might have to do with the recent change, though given the time in between it's highly unlikely. Seems that the specific code is refusing to go to one branch and is always going to another...
Nonetheless, had any luck figuring it out yet?

I'm 95% sure it's because of the addition of mobile mode, since that's the only recent change that had anything to with image samples. Specifically, whether the user was using mobile mode wasn't properly reset to false between requests, so over time the site ended up thinking that almost every user is using it all the time, and so it displays the sampled version (which is intended when using mobile mode). If I'm correct, then I already fixed the bug 4 days ago with this commit.

It's just that the server hasn't been updated yet; until it is, the bug will continue to happen even though it's fixed.

I had the settings page with original selected in one tab and a image in another, showing the smaller sample size. When I hit the submit on the settings page without actually changing the settings and reloaded the image tab, it refreshed to the original size. Opening another image still shows the smaller size. Closing the tab and then reopening it from the search page went back to the smaller size. I've noticed this problem starting over a week ago, but just now checked here to see if something was up.
