Lithographs in Danbooru

As for the posts, it's not like such pics have never been approved before, but they're certainly less likely to get approved than the usual anime-style stuff.

Proceed with caution, and check how similar what you plan to upload is with already approved and deleted posts in the category as a general indicator of acceptability.

From howto:upload:

Art Style

Danbooru is an Anime Art Gallery first, and a high-quality gallery second. Only anime-style art will be accepted. Art which are done in other styles are highly likely to be rejected.

  • Generally Accepted
    • Anime-style illustrations.
    • Anime-style renditions of characters from Western animation or comics.
    • Photography of Anime-themed papercraft. Examples: paper_child

[...]

  • Generally Rejected
    • Most Photography.
    • Western style illustrations (commonly known outside Danbooru as 'cartoons' or 'comics').

TL;DR: Because of hypocrisy. Not to mention, those images aren't even from pixiv...

P.S.:

These statements are mutually exclusive:

"Only anime-style art will be accepted."

AND

"Art which are done in other styles are highly likely to be rejected."

So, is it only the anime-style art that's going to be accepted, or not?

One of those posts was approved by a janitor that has since been demoted to below contributor, and another bypassed the queue because it was uploaded by a contributor that has also been demoted. And all of them are over 4 years old.

You can argue that things can just slip through the cracks and be overlooked too easily, or that the guidelines and the ToS are phrased poorly and can be misleading, but saying that it's just hypocrisy is a bit much IMHO.

Okay. Then what's preventing Danbooru's staff from getting rid of the posts in question? High favcount?

There's no need to take my previous statement to heart. Besides, I wasn't addressing anyone specifically. No offense intended.

There's nothing preventing it. It's just that no has gotten around to it, as going through a backlog of 1.5 million posts would take quite a bit of time.

If someone were to post in the deletion request thread or flag them (which anyone can do, including you), they would more than likely end up deleted.

Sure, but why didn't anyone flag/delete those images around the time they were posted, then?

From howto:upload:

A Footnote on Historical Images

You may notice a number of comparatively low quality art in Danbooru's permanent collection. While current upload standards would preclude similar images being uploaded today, we have neither the manpower nor a compelling reason to re-review many tens of thousands of historical images in bulk. Older images are not immune to re-consideration in the moderation queue (that is, there is no official "grandfather clause" anymore), but there will be no large-scale purge of the backlog either.

So standards were more lax 4-5 years ago than they are today.
