tag implications: reverse_trap -> androgynous [and] crossdressing

Posted under General

Well I accept the reasoning for androgynous being kept separate (though that only really makes sense for traps; reverse traps always seem to be androgynous by default, there's nothing expressly feminine about them and yet never anything particularly masculine - however it's not guaranteed, I admit) but it is impossible for a girl to be a reverse trap unless she is crossdressing - otherwise it would be a girl dressed as a girl, which isn't a reverse trap.

It's usually not crossdressing though. Most clothing considered acceptable for males is also acceptable for females. Jeans and slacks have been considered appropriate for women for at least 50 years or so.

Wearing a suit jacket or necktie may still be considered a bit unusual, but I really wouldn't consider it crossdressing. Look at Hillary Clinton or Avril Lavine for example.

Even if those were blatant enough to be considered crossdressing, the implication still doesn't work with the current usage of reverse_trap. The tag seems to get applied to things so common as short hair in combination with pants and a dress shirt, t-shirt, or jacket. See:

If not for the length of their hair and the size of their busts, these instances would look like perfectly ordinarily dressed women.

I disagree. What you're saying is that women's clothes will always look girly and that any clothing that isn't inherently feminine in appearance has to be male clothing. Going with your view, a tomboyish girl wearing a unisex gym uniform of a shirt and gym shorts is all of a sudden crossdressing because the clothing isn't girly looking.
