Failbooru

It seems like Danbooru overall has been very buggy and unresponsive lately, lots of failbooru dead ends and pages just plain not loading or loading at a snail's pace. I know it's not just me and my connection, I've had friends experiencing the same problems. Any idea what's up there?

Danbooru has been exceedingly slow for me the past few days, and i've gotten a few failouts as well. It's about as slow as Sadako climbing out of the well.

I can attest to this. It seems to happen the most around noon and rarely at night. This is within the pacific timezone.

I'm in the eastern timezone, and this goes on 24/7 for me. Does using Firefox have any bearing on this.

1 million files in the same folder isn't exactly the best thing.
maybe it's the database server without enough ram. (ram > database size)
but I don't think is a database problem, there is a problem of slowness also trying to access files directly without doing a database query.
maybe a problem with the connection or with web server.
I've had a similar problem on another site, and it was a faulty switch on the server farm.

The file system is reiserfs which should have no issues with large amounts of files in one directory.

The DNS load balancing is kind of terrible, you might see better results just using hijiribe.donmai.us.

I use firefox, so I don't believe so. I know I use some greasemonkey scripts but I don't think that would have any bearing whatsoever.

Ok, but i have some problem using hijiribe, previews are loaded properly, however, with the full size images i get this problem.

That happens to me as well. Doesn't matter if I'm signed in or out and it doesn't happen right away but once it does all images are out. If I try opening the image directly in a new tab, outside of the Danbooru interface, it gives me a 403 error.

A shame, it really is much faster.

It was discussed in forum #59216, along with some workarounds. But for favorites specifically try using the new fastfav metatag that was added because of it. fastfav:z905844 amagami

75% of the time: it still results in failbooru

and now even the forums and user pages are failbooru as well

Similar problems here. On-and-off slowness at danbooru.donmai.us, with some improvements using hijiribe.donmai.us. I got one instance of the problem Graysnake 2834 mentioned, but reloading the page fixed it. Now neither wants to display my user profile page; the database keeps timing out. Pools, individual images and such show up fine, though response time varies. I can obviously access the forums.

I only get the Failbooru message when I try to access a users profile (other than myself).
I do notice that when a page loads it sometimes switches back and forth from danbooru.donmai.us to sonahara.donmai.us repeatedly before loading.

Same as Moonspeaker. Occasional random time outs on danbooru and hijiribe and failbooru on specific user profiles like Moonspeaker's, the one z905844 linked and a few others.

I don't generally have problems with danbooru, aside from not being able to access certain profiles. Sometimes danbooru slows down, but it goes back to normal after a short while. My biggest recent problem was not being able to upload, but that was because the yusa.imouto server was lagging it up.

Just chiming in to note that I too cannot access my own profile due to failbooru/database timeout on both danbooru an hijiribe. It's a bit inconvenient, really.

I'm having similar issues, I'm able to look at everyone else's profiles fine but I'll get a timeout without fail if I try and look at my own. Same with my favourites page.

The mirror makes no difference whatsoever.

I can't access profiles either, which wouldn't be the end of the world except that that also means I can't ban.
