inkblot vs paint_splatter

recently discovered the underused inkblot tag and paint_splatter tag. no wiki definitions for both so far.

based on majority posts, i would say that inkblot is for black ink and paint_splatter for other colors. would be it ok to place this qualifying characteristic in the wiki? but there are inks in other colors too right? or is inkblot redundant and a candidate for being 'nuked'? hoping for guidance. thanks.

Keeping inkblot for black sounds good to me.

I'd kind of like inkblot to be for shapes that actually look like ink spots that dripped from a fountain pen. Not exactly sure how to define that in a wiki, though (I knows it when I sees it, but that's about it), so I guess the color thing is okay too.

A related issue: do we need a separate tag for "in-universe" paint splatters that come from paint appearing as an object in the actual image, as opposed to paint splatters applied like Photoshop filters? Posts like post #870013 and post #82841 strike me as very different from the rest of the paint_splatter tag.

That's me. They used to be tagged paint_stains and it seems I went too fast when merging with paint_splatter.

Stains (in-image) vs splatter (on-image) sounds like an okay distinction for me, if we can keep it clean.

ok, thanks for all the advice. i'll update the wiki entries and state the color restriction. there are very few posts at the moment so i can clean them and maybe add a couple of entries for inkblot.

however, i encountered post #898516 just now. it's tagged as ink only. but im thinking of the 'in-universe' suggestion earlier. it's an in-image (stain) but the color is black. is it necessary to create a new tag for this e.g. ink_stains? or we expand paint_stains to include black too? or keep the post with just ink tag? thanks again.

Edit: i'm inclined to keep the ink tag and add bodypaint instead.

done updating the wikis. if there is any unclear or confusing part please don't hesitant to correct the definitions i made.

some problems i met so far: post #520750 and post #911197, both currently tagged as paint splatter. however, both are black/white. should i retain them?

edit: this is something bugging me, i didn't add in the wiki definition yet, but is it generally accepted that when something 'splatter' usually a strong force was used? i've looked at post #486950, there is a spilled paint. currently tagged with paint splatter. the current definition i made looks ok, but it seems to lack a degree of force present in others. just consulting.
