These numbers are horribly skweed by that toho pokemon set haduki deleted.

That was after the included time period, as I lost most of the data for February and March in a power outage.
It's probably on the low end, though, and could also miss posts that were flagged and restored within half an hour.
At any rate, a significant amount of flagged posts end up being well-deservedly deleted.

Based on the feedback here, I will defer to popular wisdom and revert the autodelete/mod queue changes. It will take some time to iron out any inconsistencies multi-flagging brings but I will try and deploy tomorrow night.

  • Flagged posts are now autodeleted. The way it works is the script will look for any flagged post with an unresolved flag older than 3 days. This will trigger the delete.
  • Approving a flagged post should mark all current flags as resolved.
  • You can only flag a post once per user.
  • Appeals have been implemented. Appealed posts appear only in the dashboard.
  • Appeals and flagging are open to all members. The 10 flag per day limit is still in effect and applies to everyone. I should add something similar for appeals.
  • There is a new Mod Action listing that tries to keep track of any moderator action. See it here: http://danbooru.donmai.us/mod_action
  • Neutral user records have been added.
  • I've added explicit rules to the upload page for privileged and under. I believe the Upload Guide is way too verbose for newbies, I'd like to see a condensed version.

Currently, this is showing up for Contribs as well... Also, you may want to change "guro" to "excessive guro" to head off any shitstorms about us having a guro tag with 500+ posts.

On that note Manga should probably be Commercial Manga and Watermarked should be 3rd Party Watermarked. Just to be totally clear.

That's kinda awesome.
I like the appeal thing a lot. Is there a limit in how many appealed pics can you see in the dashboard?

This is more of an aesthetic thing, but I liked the green/red positive/negatives on the records pages. Could that come back with neutral records just being white or grey?

I agree with this. I was surprised to see that the records page lacked a lot of colour during my most recent visit. I know that it's a minor quibble, but the colour differentiation was a nice little touch.

Thought hard translations were allowed? Originals preferred, of course, and, should the original on the site also exist, be made the parent post, but hard translations still have their place for archival purposes, at least.

Do we necessarily have to enter a reason for an appeal?

Having a reason to unapprove a post strikes me as being pretty logical, much like I can see multiple appeal situations where a reason makes sense (better res/quality than something approved, continuation of a comic, reference image, etc.).
But in the general appeal scenario, I'd be puzzled to find a reason worth mentionning that isn't captain obvious already.

Updated

It seems flagged posts can be appealed, for the sake of symmetry and fairness, shouldn't deleted posts that have been appealed be able to be flagged? That way someone can point out a good reason not to re-approve a post and provide feedback to the appealer. Right now this doesn't appear to be possible.

Agree with this.

I'm also wondering how this works. Right now it looks like it's just showing the 10 most recent appeals (I think). Is there anyway to scroll through them all? Otherwise people are going to miss lots of appeals just because they can't constantly refresh the dashboard all day long.

I want to ask the same thing. Sometimes, a person couldn't really say the reason why he want something appealed, just wanting to appeal a post.

Also, does the appeal function apply to posts already appearing in the deletion appeal and upload feedback threads? It may sound like overkill, but I'm thinking some mods or janitors may not bother looking at either thread, which may also account to why some good posts slipped through the cracks.

Updated

I would recommend changing "duplicate" in the flagging dropdown to "Pixiv (manga) sample" as we have, for 1-3 years, not been deleting duplicates.

Also, nth-ing green/gray/red for records.

Well, I don't think the posts appealed in that thread would be automagically marked as appealed in the database, so - for ease of moderation - I would suggest that anything appealed there doesn't "count".

So what you mean is that anything listed in either of the deletion appeal and upload feedback threads can still be appealed using the new procedure, am I right?

If it's so, I mentioned that it might sound like overkill because we all know a deleted post can only appealed once in the deletion appeal thread.

Nobody should be punished for running a post through the new system if it's been run through the appeal thread already but that doesn't mean you should run all your already appealed and rejected posts through the new system for the sake of it.

Albert, do you think you could add a reminder (or if possible, a requirement) for people to actually leave a note explaining their criteria for flagging a post when they pick "Other" as the reason?

I don't quite agree with nanami on how one should be able to basically go "I dunno" when appealing a post but I don't care much for that either, but one should definitely have a reason for why they think a post should be deleted. Allowing people to leave that blank kind of invalidates the point of having a system to state their reasons.
