Artist question.

Posted under General

I've been going through each artist's wiki and going over to see if the tags and so on are correct. I came across cosine's page and went through every image. I have put a few into the moderation queue due to being poorly drawn, but it brings me to this question:

Can artists who are known to drawn terrible artwork have their work banned from being uploaded onto Danbooru?

68 of cosine's images have been deleted either because they've been sent to the moderation queue then deleted for being poorly drawn, or just left for three days then automatically unapproved. Clearly cosine lacks the ability to drawn genitals well, and some of his images aren't that good.

I see no need to blanket ban a whole artist. Images that aren't Danbooru quality shouldn't make it through in the queue the first place, and those that do can get reviewed. But I wouldn't want an image that was worth keeping to not get posted in the first place because someone sees that the artist is banned and doesn't upload it. Artists can and do improve their skills over time.

This is an atrocious idea. Artist bans should only be reserved when the artist explicitly requests it.

Please don't misunderstand. It wasn't an idea to actually ban the artists. I was merely questioning if that has happened before

Thank you for your answer. That answers my question. Thank you.

Once, for bluedemon13, but it wasn't only for bad quality. His "art" is blatantly plagiarized from better, more talented artists, and he kept making a nuisance of himself by making an assload of sockpuppet accounts to sneak in some of his garbage onto Danbooru. This combination of failure necessitated a hard ban.

Ahh. So it happens only in certain circumstances. Thank you.

I have another question also but on a different topic.

With toddlercon becoming illegal in many countries, same with lolicon and shotacon, does danbooru still plan to continue allowing users to post it upon the website? And if contacted by authorities and be asked to remove all lolicon, shotacon and toddlercon from the website, will that effect anything in danbooru in the way of getting people to sign up for privileged status?
