Pointless tag: "color"

The color tag seems useless to me, since most of the pics on here are in color. We have -monochrome to find pictures in color, colored to find pictures that were originally uncolored but were then colored later, and colorful for ones that are unusually colorful.

Is there any use to the color tag?

forum #12935 suggests it should be used for 'exceptions' of some kind or another.

??? I don't see why you couldn't just search shichimenchou -monochrome.

Using it for exceptions makes fixing tags a lot more work. It means you can't just remove the tag from a post if you think it was incorrectly added; instead you have to search through everything the artist has ever drawn to make sure the post isn't an exception.

A tag like this really can't exist without a very good, descriptive wiki. Sure I can see it having some use form say, the rare gofu color image. But as it stands it's just very confusing.

But in that case I really do think that artist -monochrome works best. After all, when are you going to search 'color'? When you already have an artist in mind. 'color' by itself is a fairly meaningless tag to search for.

On a site like this, the color tag seems as redundant as female.

The only possible use I see for it is to tag manga/artists, which is normally found in monochrome form. However, as it has been stated above, it would be much better to just search -monochrome.

As zatchii said, it could be one of those tags used for exceptions (of a certain artist/image series I presume), but once again, would these exceptions be monochrome tagged as to not allow a search of -monochrome?

Imho, it would be as pointless as finding every image where characters are wearing something and tag it as worn_clothing or something similarly infinitely redundant.

+1 to the fact that this tag is pretty much completely useless and pointless.
