Question about doujin uploads.

Posted under General

Whilst I know that doujin uploading is generally frowned on, I've found an 18 page doujin of Len x Rin that is pretty decent in drawing. It's untranslated however yet I was hoping to upload it on danbooru since it's pretty good.

May I upload it or shall I keep it to myself?

It's your call. Just keep in mind your upload limit. If their not approved, you'll take a beating on how much you can upload at a time.

Understandable.. I'm just a little bit hesitant in uploading if people are going to snap at go 'No, you can't do that'.

I think I might keep it to myself for the moment, I'd rather not risk getting in trouble again and I don't want my uploading limit to go down even further.

My suggestion: Upload the best-drawn pages that can stand on their own and see if they get through the queue.

This is a good idea. Afterwards, if they were approved, you might have a better chance of getting the other pages approved as well, at which point you should pool them together and order the pages appropriately.

Thank you, I'll do as such.

Sorry for bumping and hijacking the thread, but I have a question regarding uploading doujins.

Like, what is your opinion about uploading pages related to existing comic pool? For example, pages that are only exclusive in manga copy.

Well... I'd just upload the "missing" pages, three at a go perhaps, and reorder the pool appropriately if they're accepted. I'm not a mod, though, so perhaps it's best to wait for response from them rather than taking my word for it.

If they're not officially available on the artist's sites I'd say don't upload them. If the artist didn't put them online, they probably didn't want them online.

My bad then, since I'd uploaded the manga-only pages of pool #718 and pool #1980. Doujin are floating around on Share and general internet a lot so I didn't think much about it.

isnt this prohibiton a little crazy by itself? this is the biggest booru imageboard that i know and with the best quality in the translations. I read lots of doujins here without down loading then and they are easy to find. If i want a kanako doujin then i just put yasaka kanako and comic on the searcher and i find it, most of the time translated and organized into a pool.

so what is really the problem of doujin uplaods? shouldnt it be okay if the doujin is only poorly drawn? ive uploaded wild and horned hermit and the art was very simple, despite of that it got approved in 2 hours and translated in 7 hours.

you should take proud on that rather than discouraging.

The thing is danbooru is not for doujinshi translation.

As Suiseiseki said:

If the artist didn't put them online, they probably didn't want them online. I just don't want artists to think that we're stealing from them. We've had enough artist deletion requests recently.

That said, I still really want to see the translated shino's stuff er...

that is my question... there are a lot of low quality doujins in this forum that has been approved. Those have a very good story, though.

and then i start uploading a doujin and even if the art is truly good, just see the artist images in his tag, the images have not been approved in 8 hours and i have the hunch they will not get approved T.T

Looking at the current issue (Yea, I was late for class), I have to agree that it is better not to upload. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
