Flagging yaoi?

Posted under General

I've noticed a number of yaoi images getting flagged. I don't remember if they're forbidden or not, but either way these are mostly really old images being flagged. 6 months, a year, more.

Should these be getting flagged? And if we were deleting for no reason other than 'yaoi', wouldn't albert just mass delete the tag?

I think randomly flagging old ass yaoi pics without any rhyme or reason seems a bit silly. If it's really old, just leave it. If we really want to purge it all, we can do it easily, without messing with deleting each one piecemeal as they're flagged. And if we don't want to simply delete it all, then we probably don't want to delete the one you flagged if it's not otherwise rule breaking.

So let's just get an answer on this one way or the other and stick with that policy.

Because we are not fags.
It's not a matter of social standards, discrimination or whatnot. It's just that most people here have no interest in man-on-man porn, and so yaoi fans would be better served by posting on a yaoi-oriented board, rather than forcing the rest of us into an uneasy cohabitation.

I fully agree with LaC

THats the thing. Most of us aren't lesbian either, yet we welcome that with open arms.

I have exactly zero interest in yaoi, but I'm not so sensitive I'm going to gouge my eyes out if I accidentally see it.

Of course, I think the entire concept of being so sensitive to drawn images that you actually BLACKLIST entire tags ridiculous.

On the other hand, there's no inherent "virtue" in not blacklisting. It doesn't give someone "hardcore cred" to have some unwanted scat images interspersed in their search results. It doesn't make them into a better poster or a better person. It doesn't necessarily indicate they're any more tolerant. It doesn't indicate a damn thing, really.

I think people using the blacklist is a bigger deal for you than it is for the people actually using it. For me, it's just routine, and takes seconds to set up (I haven't had to touch it in like... a year?) and then I reap nothing but rewards from it. So why in the world should I not do so?

Edit: and note that blacklisting something is not at all the same as saying it should be banned from the site.

Naked girls are naked girls no matter how many are in the image and what they are doing to each other.
I can put up with naked males if they are also accompanied by naked girls. Take away the naked girls and I have no interest in the image whatsoever.

I like yaoi and I'm not a fag. (I find that explanation about as believable as saying all yuri fans are lesbians.) I also like hentai. I like that danbooru has a little of everything. If there's something I don't like, I just put it on the blacklist.

It's just too bad so many image boards have to ban yaoi, imho. I don't know if there are any danbooru boards around that cater to that, but if there are I'll be happy to go to them as well.

If the owner of a website doesn't want something on his/her website, then that is just how it is. *shrug*
