Degrees of Lewdity Implications

Degrees of Lewdity is a highly customizable game where you can choose the sexes of the characters. Although most characters don't have canon designs and are thus left up to interpretation by the players, there are some widely accepted designs by the fandom that are mainly separated by the character sex. That, plus the inevitable NSFW art that can be hetero, yaoi, or yuri depending on the artist, are why I made different tags for each sex of the character after being inspired by other series that do the same thing on here.

I decided to also keep the base name tags because there are some arts where you can't tell the sex, for example post #7972981. Also, the game has hermaphodite options (although I haven't seen too much of it in art yet]], so there's always a chance of futanari art that wouldn't necessarily fit under either tag. There may also just be someone who wants only Kylar art and may not care about the sex of the character.

The 1boy, 1girl, 2boys, 2girls tags may not always work, too. The player character also has sex options the player can choose. There are also posts like post #7851217 where there are multiple different characters. This is just the easiest way I can think of. People who want to avoid certain sexes of different characters may also blacklist them that way.

As for the player character, I'm not sure if I should make different sex tags for them too? Protagonists have a history of not having a set sex and this game is no different.

Would anyone have an opinion on creating the player character (male) (degrees of lewdity) and player character (female) (degrees of lewdity) tags? I'm still conflicted on whether it should be done or not. The Player Character is largely up to the artist's interpretations so it's confusing and they all have very different designs from one another. Adding the sex tags to them as well could help for the reasons above as well, but again, it's all very different and the designs for PC are in no way fluid.

It would be decent to help non-players identify stuff. There are a non-zero number of images where the two characters are the same gender and look relatively similar. And with the ever-increasing amount of body, clothing, piercing, etc. options for them it can't help but be more confusing.

Just don't forget to tag 'em as original, as they are OCs.

Implications for the player character as discussed above. Some art of them does not show them as being either sex, so keeping the original player_character_(degrees_of_lewdity) tag would make sense.
