BUR #34897 has been rejected.

mass update multicolored_clothes -> -multicolored_coat -multicolored_bikini -multicolored_thighhighs -multicolored_bodysuit -multicolored_dress -multicolored_gloves -multicolored_hoodie -multicolored_jacket -multicolored_scarf -multicolored_kimono -multicolored_pajamas -multicolored_panties -multicolored_shorts -multicolored_skirt -multicolored_sweater -multicolored_swimsuit -multicolored_cape -multicolored_necktie -multicolored_legwear -multicolored_headwear -multicolored_bow -multicolored_hat
deprecate multicolored_clothes

I think the biggest factor against this should be the fact that the wiki for multicolored_clothes specifically says not to use it with patterns like plaid and argyle and yet the wiki uses these patterns as example pictures.

Ignoring that though this tag is incredibly unspecific and I can't see a single reason to use this in place of a tag like multicolored shirt or even any of the two-tone tags.

Another concern is that the wiki states that Black, White, and Grey should not be included in the tag and yet a large sample size of the post contains white, black, and grey colors as part of the "multicolored" tag. I find the tag overly broad, and attempts to "limit" what the tag contains are ineffective.

Updated

I don't see any point in having this tag. It's incredibly broad; rarely does an outfit only consist of clothes that have a single color. As zetsubousensei said, nobody is going to find this more useful than any of the more specific multicolored_x tags.

I'd prefer to keep it to have a global tag to be able to search for colorful clothes of any kind.

The wiki definitely needs to be edited, especially about its obvious contradiction stating "two or more distinct colors" and "two colors [...] don't count" while using two colored clothes as examples.
If two colored clothes count (I think they should), two-tone_* should imply the multicolored ones.

Regarding the black/white colors misuse, perhaps a rename or the creation of a new distinct 'colorful_clothes / colorful_*' tag would be a better choice of word and less prone to mistag.
Especially as the multicolored_hair can mislead people tagging as it's not following that black and white rule.

Multicolored clothes only gets 150 searches per week. This is another umbrella tag that only exists just in case someone might need it, but nobody actually does.

I'm not sure what your mass update is trying to accomplish though. You probably want this if you're trying to remove multicolored clothes from everything that already has a more specific tag:

deprecate multicolored_clothes
mass update ~multicolored_coat ~multicolored_bikini ~multicolored_thighhighs ~multicolored_bodysuit ~multicolored_dress ~multicolored_gloves ~multicolored_hoodie ~multicolored_jacket ~multicolored_scarf ~multicolored_kimono ~multicolored_pajamas ~multicolored_panties ~multicolored_shorts ~multicolored_skirt ~multicolored_sweater ~multicolored_swimsuit ~multicolored_cape ~multicolored_necktie ~multicolored_legwear ~multicolored_headwear ~multicolored_bow ~multicolored_hat -> -multicolored_clothes

If multicolored clothes gets deprecated, how the fuck am I supposed to tag clothing that'd normally be covered by those tags? I don't think the inevitable rainbow clothes is gonna always be helpful, even if I do understand how minimally they are searched for.

If you're gonna throw some random clothing into a tag this generic, what makes you think anyone's ever gonna be able to find the post with it?

Yes that was what I was trying to accomplish, thank you Evazion and Zapdos :SagaYay:

Well, it was in the respective multicolored tag, to clarify, (i.e. multicolored shirt, multicolored dress), but I suppose I can see your point.

Personally I think the use case for all the multicolored_* are a bit spotty. Give the wiki a look and then browse through the tag and try to find anything that actually fits the definition. post #8694581 or post #8610350 are prime cases of what the tag is actually for but most of the images are posts like post #8724814 or post #8660325 and are blatent mistags given the wiki. I'm not willing to nuke all of them at the moment as I don't have a better tag name/replacement for the few that do fit, but it's existence in it's current state is a bit questionable.
