This one's part of a pool I've been uploading from without issue until now. Why this one?
Pretty choked on this one, as every other piece I've uploaded from this artist has been of equal quality, and this is no exception.
Kinda sucks to not have the full set on here for seemingly no reason, since quality definitely isn't the issue.

Only 3 approvers saw it, so that's a valid reason for another look through.

Low amount of checks on a lot of them. Animations are harder to get approved, same for nsfw. You have a case for appealing a few of them but I don't like looking at genetalia so can't comment on the quality for those one's.

I agree with the first one that there are some noises in the image, although not critical. And in the second example, it's just the author's drawing style. You also mentioned that the number of inspectors was small, how many should be checked?
It seems to me that although there are plenty of 18+ arts here, those who approve them have a strange attitude towards them. Works that fall into the "general" category are approved much better and faster. For example, my art by "keihh" was deleted, although he has 16 pages of images here and it was taken from his pixciv, and not a paid work. Some arts even have likes from people who approve the works of "Statistics", but they ultimately do not pass because the other 4 people did not like it to approve it. In general, this system is full of randomness and error, some of the reviewers may not like 18+ arts and they do not approve them all, and some do not like the character in any form. I would even say that the approvers have a biased attitude towards all images that are not included in the "general" category.

how many approvers disapproving a picture is normal and to be expected?
some of my posts have as many as 12 or 13, like post #8509719 or post #8555481, but some as little as 4 (post #8580149), and i saw other people's posts go lower at 3 (post #8574023) or 2 (post #8573731)
and why is an approver appealing posts only based on their disapproval count?

In practice, probably 8-ish or more. Do note that this only counts approvers who clicked any of the buttons, it doesn't count approvers who have seen the post but didn't explicitly press disapprove. Generally unapproved posts with more (say >12) disapprovals are more likely to have some actual flaw, rather than just not being to the taste of the approvers that did look at it, but this is far from the rule.
