Apperently both spellings are correct and this looks really stupid.

Looks really stupid to who? That's the spelling even wikipedia uses as the main name.

Neutral on this, as both names seem perfectly valid. Google does perhaps suggest that "secretary bird" is more popular with 411k results versus "secretarybird" with 171k results, though there is also a 1969 UK play by the title "The Secretary Bird" which could potentially be adding some results to that 411k.
