Alias carpet beater to futon tataki

Posted under Tags

I think an alias in the other direction would be better. Or possibly an implication from futon_tataki to carpet_beater, if we want to distinguish between Japanese and non-Japanese carpet beaters.

But this entry already has a nice wiki page, and it seems fairly Japanese specific.

Or maybe alias futon_beater -> futon_tataki. Carpet beaters aren't really a thing anymore since the advent of the vacuum cleaner, but futons (and futon beaters) still see enough use for artists to draw them.

Probably regional differences, because where I'm from in western Europe it's still pretty normal to have one and use it on i.e. rugs and doormats. My personal suggestion would be implying futon tataki to carpet beater, and maybe have futon beater as a utility alias. It'd require some gardening of carpet beater onto non-futon tataki posts though.

You do realise that if the alias was made in the other direction, the wiki would also move over, right?

The wiki will probably need to be reworded to an extent, but I flipped the BUR.

create implication futon_tataki -> carpet_beater

Right now all but two posts (post #6692042, post #5735829) are specifically for the japanese carpet beater. I don't think it makes sense to alias it away, mostly because this is a japanese-focused site. Imagine we aliased sushi to raw seafood or kotatsu to low table.

This is one of those very few cases where it's ok to have an umbrella tag almost entirely comprised of a single tag, it really can't be helped.
